Save the date for our Fall Fun Festival at Highland Park Elementary! Join us on September 29th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm for an evening of laughter, excitement, and unforgettable memories. Our festival has something for everyone in the family. Imagine a DJ playing great music, a magician performing thrilling tricks, and face painters creating adorable designs. And that's not all! Join us TONIGHT for our first PTA meeting!
You are all invited to join us September 12th in the HPE Library at 6:00 PM for our first meeting of the year. It's an exciting time as we start a new school year, and we really appreciate your input. Your presence is important as we make decisions about important plans and dates that will shape the upcoming months. We are eager to hear your thoughts and ideas!
The HPE PTA is excited for a fantastic year with more than 150 family memberships!
Way to achieve greatness, Huskies! Our membership drive ended with 157 family memberships and 29 staff memberships!
We are deeply grateful for each and every family who has chosen to be a part of our PTA, as together we strive to create a nurturing and inspiring environment for our students. This is an incredible achievement and demonstrates the dedication and commitment we all have towards our school.
We'd like to give a special shoutout to Mrs. Kasper's class for their outstanding efforts in winning the pizza party donated by Johnny's Tavern, with an impressive membership percentage of 89%!
And it’s still not too late! If you haven't joined the PTA yet, we urge you to do so. Your membership helps us fund important resources and programs for our students. We also encourage you to attend our meetings and provide your valuable input to further enrich our school community (no volunteer work required ;-)).
We hope you had a fun and sunny summer break! The Highland Park Elementary PTA Board has been meeting over the summer to plan an exciting school year with lots of events for everyone. We can't wait to share our plans with you and hear your thoughts on all the fun activities and projects. We'll be seeing you around this year as we make the 2023-2024 school year one to remember!

Parent Volunteers are BACK for Field Day 2022!! Please see the link below to sign up to work one of our fabulous field day stations! The day will be broken into two volunteer opportunities. The morning shift will run from 8:30am to 11:20am. The second shift will run from 12:00 to 2:20pm. Please sign up for the shift that best fits your day!
Field day will run the same as years past, classes will rotate through all 15 stations throughout the day lead by your child's classroom teacher. Teachers will take their class around to stations located inside the gym to outside on the playground. Volunteers may or may not see their own child depending on the rotation schedule and there is no way to guarantee rotation schedules before hand. We also ask that parents only sign up for one slot to give more families that opportunity to help out!

Please join the HPE PTA in collecting donations this holiday season. We will be donating to Coldwater of Lee’s Summit this year.
Donations will be collected at AM drop off. Collections will be taken at the bus rider doors as well as the drop off line for car riders/walkers. All donations will be taken Tuesday morning Nov 23 at 9:00am to Coldwater of Lee’s Summit.

Parent Teacher Conference Snacks
The PTA would like help keeping the teachers' lounge stocked with yummy treats/snacks and drinks for the week of Parent Teacher conferences! If you are able to donate, please drop off your donation in the front office anytime during the day Monday, November 1st! Please remember to mark any utensils, dishes, or crockpots with your name to ensure they return back home.
Parent Teacher Conference Taco Dinner for HPE Staff
The PTA would love your help in providing dinner for our HPE teachers on Wednesday, November 3rd! The staff will be busy with Parent Teacher Conferences and we would love to help lighten their load by providing a Taco Bar! If you are able, please have your donation to the front office by Wednesday, November 3rd at 3:30pm. Please remember to label any serving utensils, dishes, or crockpots so we can ensure it returns back home!

You start your adventure at the beginning of the trail, Cornstalks and hay bales will guide the way.... Can you find the paw prints hidden around the hay?
Clue 2
Spiders have eight legs, you have two. But all you need is ONE of the husky paws among the arachnid's silky glue.
Clue 3
Stuffed with hay and a shirt from a burlap bag. They were created to scare the crows that cry caw. But, don't be Afraid, for this is the crew who guards the husky paw.
Clue 4
Here a pumpkin. There a pumpkin. Everywhere there are pumpkins. But, which Jack-o-LANTERN comes with a pumpkin paw?
Clue 5
The hills have eyes. The grasses have eyes. Look with yours and set your sights, and you might find a glowing paw amongst the monster EYES!
Clue 6
Ever heard of the friendly ghost named Kasper? He was distantly related to Mrs. Kasper before he pulled up the sheets. Do you see any resemblance of these relatives? There you may find the paw you seek.
Clue 7
You made it to the end, and close is Halloween. Smile and say cheese as a pumpkin family and the final husky paw just might be seen.
Husky Hustle Deadlines are right around the corner!
Join us October 25th - October 30th for a “virtual” family fun race to raise money for the Highland Park PTA! This year, the PTA is working to raise money for multiple projects, including purchasing additional bike racks for HPE students. Visit the school trail any day or time during October 25th - October 30th to enjoy the Howl-oween Glow Run theme and participate in our Husky Pawprint Scavenger Hunt. Decorations will be frightfully fun for the whole family and can even be enjoyed at night with glow-in-the-dark gear! So, grab your family and friends, and show your Husky pride by participating in this year’s hustle. Don’t forget to take pictures and share on HPE PTA Facebook page!
Also, as if you needed another reason to join us ;-), we’re giving out TWO prizes for participation!
